‼️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: Hornet families, an area of Athens that includes the high school, Central Athens and South Athens elementary campuses has lost power. Oncor does not expect power to be restored before 7:30 at the earliest. Consequently, as much as we hate to, we have no choice but to cancel the meet the teacher and freshman orientation events at these campuses, and due to multiple scheduling conflicts will be unable to reschedule before school starts. Please rest assured, though, that we will take great care of your children on Monday.

⚽️🥎⚾️ We have THREE Hornet Sports Camps running June 10-12. Please note for those who already had the SOCCER CAMP on your schedule, there have been CHANGES since the original camp posting. There is a new time (6pm-8:30pm) and location (Bruce Field).


🚨 Passers-by on Highway 19 South and FM 753 in Athens should be prepared to see dozens of law enforcement vehicles in front of Athens Middle School from Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14. The middle school will host first responders from many local and regional law enforcement agencies as they train with the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center. The ALERRT program provides scenario-based training to prepare officers and other first responders to safely and effectively handle active-shooter and other violent threats. This could include simulated drills outside of the building on occasion. Please do not be alarmed if you see those drills in progress during training.

Big shoutout to the amazing members of the Athens Middle School Builders Club for their stellar support at Tuesday's Kiwanis Club Pancake Day! 🥞👏 Rotating through 2- and 3-hour shifts, these 20 Hornets rocked it by bussing tables, refilling drinks, carrying trays, cleaning up spills and spreading cheer. 🐝🌟 They truly showcased the spirit of #HornetNation in our community!
