Athens ISD is blessed with so many dedicated, high-achieving educators. So it’s a daunting task each year to narrow the field until only two remain in the spotlight — one at the elementary level and the other at the secondary level. If you haven’t already heard, our 2023-2024 Elementary Teacher of the Year is Robin Edlin, and our Secondary Teacher of the Year is Madison Hope.
🍎 Mrs. Edlin, a reading interventionist at South Athens Elementary, is not just a teacher but a beacon of inspiration. Principal Nikki Mason describes her as a phenomenal educator who teaches with both her mind and her heart. She’s a supportive resource for fellow staff members and always ready to lend a hand with a smile.
🍎 Mrs. Hope, an anatomy & physiology and forensic science teacher at Athens High School, is celebrated for her unwavering commitment and passion. Principal Jason Iglehart describes her as a catalyst for discovery, shaping minds and hearts within and beyond the classroom. As an NHS sponsor and mentor teacher, she invests in the growth of her students.
AISD is blessed to have Mrs. Edlin and Mrs. Hope guiding our students and caring for their fellow teachers. They embody what it means to be a Hornet.
