Another strong showing for the AHS Speech & Debate team, this time at the recent Dallas Jesuit Preparatory Invitational Tournament. Debating against very large public and private schools, AHS stayed in the running. Juniors  Cooper Rich and Isaac Hoch (far right) made it to the quarterfinal round, dropping a tough debate to a great team from Louisiana. The AHS team of junior Sebastian Campa (far left) and freshman Liam Tinsley finished prelims 2-2, narrowly missing elimination rounds. A strong finish, given this is only Sebastian and Liam's second tournament competing in the varsity division. They were awarded top novice team, and Liam was awarded Top Novice Speaker of the tournament. We're proud of them all for continuing Athens High School's tradition of excellence in speech and debate.
