We are so proud to announce Lisa Ford (left) as the 2023 Elementary Teacher of the Year and Julie Hill as the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Ford is the second through fifth-grade math intervention teacher at South Athens Elementary. Hill is the ninth through twelfth-grade child development, and counseling and mental health teacher at Athens High School, as well as the tennis coach.
“Lisa and Julie represent the best of what Athens ISD has to offer,” said Superintendent Dr. Janie Sims. “As educators, they are passionate about meeting students where they are and lifting them up. As people, they are encouragers who bring out the best in everyone around them.”
We are blessed to have these two wonderful ladies and SO MANY more like them at Athens ISD. It’s a great place to live and learn!
