After closely monitoring the weather and consulting with other superintendents, we’ve made the decision to cancel school tomorrow. These decisions are never easy and involve a mix of forecast analysis, collaboration, and a bit of intuition.
Our area is sitting on the edge of a forecast dividing line—teetering between “this could get really bad” and “maybe it won’t be too bad.” While we feel confident that travel in the morning would likely be safe, the conditions for the afternoon are much less predictable. Ensuring everyone gets home safely is a risk we’re not willing to take.
Closing school is always a difficult choice. It’s a balance between keeping students and staff safe, minimizing disruptions to learning, and understanding how these changes affect families. At the heart of every decision is our unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.
Stay warm and safe tomorrow!
