Athens Independent School District serves approximately 3,400 students on 5 campuses or special school settings. Located southeast of Dallas and west of Tyler, Athens reaps the benefits of a beautiful and convenient setting. Approximately 480 teachers, administrators and support staff serve the district, which has an annual budget in excess of $31 million dollars. The budgeted per-pupil cost, based on enrollment, is over $10,000. The district-wide attendance percentage continues to be in the 90s.
