The district may close schools for a full day or part of a day because of bad weather or emergency conditions. When such conditions exist, the Superintendent will make the official decision concerning the closing of district facilities.

When it becomes necessary to open late, release early or cancel school altogether, school officials will send out a notice to parents/guardians, students, and employees via the Remind messaging app, as well as post to the AISD Facebook page.

They will also notify the following radio and television stations:
