This website will allow you to access news, schedules, directions and general information about all your favorite Hornet teams. Our athletic program offers students participation in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, powerlifting, soccer, softball, tennis, track, and volleyball. Athens competes in the 4A Classification designated by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).

Football is in District 9 Division 1

All other sports are in District 14

Athletic Physicals

Students entering 7th, 9th, and 11th grades who will be participating in Athletics - need to have a new physical before they can participate.  Athletes in 8th,10th, and 12th need to update their medical history.

Make sure to meet with your counselor and ensure that you have all of the required core classes to qualify!!

You also need to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse.

This should be done by the end of your junior year.

Athletic Passes are given to all athletes in High School and Middle School.  These passes must be shown at the gates to events for FREE admission.  Full price must be paid without Athletic pass.
